Inaugural BamaJam Festival Draws 150,000+

6/12/2008 Katie Shands Bocephus at BamaJam The small town of Enterprise, Alabama became a historical music landmark this past weekend. It hosted the first BamaJam Music & Arts Festival, which drew more than 150,000 music enthusiasts from across the country. BamaJam Music & Arts Festival was a music festival and theme park with three performance stages, children’s games, contests and camping under the stars. The Main Stage featured performances by some top-named Country Music artists, such as Little Big Town, Trace Adkins, Miranda Lambert and ZZ Top. Lynyrd Skynyrd and Hank Williams, Jr. concluded the event during the Main Stage finale. “I was shocked when I saw the crowd,” Williams said, who has a home in Troy, Alabama. “It looked like more than just my rowdy friends (and neighbors) turned out!” The Bluegrass Stage hosted intimate performances by several of the genre’s biggest named acts including: Cherryholmes, Ralph Stanley, Mountain Heart, Dan Tyminski, The Del McCoury Band and Ricky Skaggs. LoCash Cowboys, Rio Grand and Royal Jelly performed at the Bama Slam Saloon, the world’s largest outdoor honky-tonk. Country Music artist Tracy Lawrence was impressed by BamaJam’s crowd. “There were thousands of happy fans out there, and I believe they’ll be coming back.”
