Australian Connie Kis Anderson Achieves Success in America

Australian Indie artist Connie Kis Anderson recently celebrated a No. 1 single with “Happy Day” on the U.S. IndieWorld chart for the week ending Oct. 10. The single comes from her album, Once Again.The album recently won the Top Independent Album in Western Australia in 2008 and hit the states earlier in the year. It has also been offered up for consideration in several categories for the Grammy Awards. Anderson recently performed at the Americana Music Association conference in Nashville with the Smokin’ Sleddog Records party.Anderson’s music is described as having “haunting melodies,” but she also has the ability to perform catchy songs that involve a dry sense of humor. Her music revolves around the guitar and the banjo-mandolin she plays. Anderson was named Top Country Female Vocalist in 2006 in Australia. She is currently touring the states promoting Once Again.
