Troy Cassar-Daley CMA's Global Award Winner

6/5/2008 Katie Shands   Australian Country Music artist Troy Cassar-Daley was presented with the 2008 CMA Global Country Artist Award Monday. The award recognizes outstanding achievement by an artist who has furthered Country Music’s popularity and brought attention to the genre in their country. Cassar-Daley is no stranger to success. His first single, released in 1994, reached No. 1 on the Australian Country Music Charts. His debut album Beyond the Dancing was released the following year. It won Best Country Record from the Australia Recording Industry Association. This Australian artist has placed 14 No. 1 hits on the Country Music Tracks Top 30. Having sold more than 250,000 albums, Cassar-Daley is one of Australia’s most awarded singer/songwriters. He is the reigning Male Artist of the Year for the Country Music Association of Australia. He has been awarded 13 Golden Guitar Awards and named Entertainer of the Year five times.
