Ashton Shepherd Launches Sophomore Album, New Website

On Friday, July 8, Ashton Shepherd will perform her new single "Where Country Grows" on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno. The performance will kick off the release of her new album, also titled Where Country Grows, which hits stores July 12.

"Where Country Grows" is the follow-up to Shepherd's Top 20 hit, "Look It Up," and will begin radio play July 11.

Rolling Stone gave Where Country Grows four stars, saying, "her debut, Sounds So Good, was one of the best country releases of 2008. Where Country Grows is even better..Alabama spitfire matches killer voice to immaculate tunes… She can be as rugged as Miranda Lambert and James Johnson, and sings better than each."

Entertainment Weekly added Where Country Grows to its "Must List," saying "Among strong, young hard-country women, Miranda Lambert is Ashton's only real competition." The Washington Post chose Shepherd for one the their five top new artists (all genres) to watch in 2011.
