4/23/2008 LisaAnn Schleipfer Country Music group Lady Antebellum has scored the top spot, with a number one record on the Billboard country album chart, and a fourth place seat on the Billboard pop chart this week. The group’s self-titled debut album sold 43,000 copies in its first week, and almost 10,000 as digital albums.  The trio has been touring the country making radio show stops and performing to promote the album. "What an amazing time this has been so far," said Charles Kelley in a April 23 press release. "Thanks to everyone who has been there and believed in us. ROCK ON." The group’s hit single, "Love Don’t Live Here," was in heavy rotation on CMT and GAC prior to last week’s album release. "The belief and support we've been given from everyone, from our fans, country radio, iTunes, iLike, Zune, Yahoo! and other digital media partners, as well as our own team has been what has gotten us to the starting line and will keep us in the race," said vocalist Hillary Scott.  Dave Haywood reacted with, "Wow. Thank you is all I can say." The Country Music newcomers are nominated this year for a Top New Group award from the Academy of Country Music.
