The producers of the Vans Warped Tour recently announced that they will also be producing "Willie Nelson’s Country Throwdown Tour 2011."

“We are so excited to have Willie Nelson on board this year and build on the success of last year’s tour,” said Sarah Baer, co-producer for the tour. “We are the only touring country music festival, offering a truly unique experience for country music fans who can’t travel to an event like CMA Music fest…we bring the legends and new faces closer to fan’s homes.”

This second annual outdoor amphitheater tour will feature and headline Nelson as well as Lee Brice, Craig Campbell, Jamey Johnson, Randy Houser, Brantley Gilbert and others who have already been confirmed for the nationwide tour.

"Willie Nelson is an American treasure," said Johnson.  "When I was asked to return on the Throwdown Tour and was told Willie would be doing the shows, it was a simple yes."

There will also be a Bluebird Café Stage where fans can watch showcased singer-songwriters perform “in the round” in intimate sets throughout the day. There will also be nightly performances on the main stages.

A portion of the proceeds from ticket sales will benefit Unite the United, which supports grassroots charities and participates in community volunteerism events across the nation.

Ticket pre-sales begin Friday, Feb. 11, and will be available to the general public on Feb. 18 at 10 a.m. CST. For a full list of confirmed dates, visit countrythrowdown.com.
