Amber Hayes: On the Rise
Newcomer Amber Hayes is a rising star in Country Music. Her single "C’Mon" is climbing the Music Row Charts, and she just returned from a highly successful radio tour this summer.
Hayes, a self-proclaimed “small town girl” hailing from Weleetka, Okla., started performing from a young age. She was a finalist for The Mickey Mouse Club, alongside Justin Timberlake, Christina Aguilera, Britney Spears and Jessica Simpson, and also snagged a leading role in “It’s Only Make Believe – The Conway Twitty Musical.”
“I’ve always loved theater and in high school I even toured with a musical,” Hayes said. “So when I had the opportunity to audition for 'The Conway Twitty Musical,' I was excited to be able to combine theater and Country Music.”
Growing up, Hayes spent a lot of time with her grandparents, who loved Country Music. “I can remember when I was little, my grandpa would have the radio on, and we would sing along to Merle Haggard and Willie Nelson.”
As she got older, Hayes found inspiration from some of Country's leading ladies.
“Three of my biggest musical influences are Barbara Mandrell, Reba and, of course, Dolly Parton. Especially Reba, because I can relate to her a lot coming from Weleetka, Okla., and moving to Nashville”
Hayes recently landed a record deal with FUNL Records, and things have been full steam ahead since then. She has been writing and performing nonstop and is loving every minute of it.
Even with all her newfound success, Hayes is still as down-to-earth as ever.
“I’m just a normal girl who had a big dream, and I’m so thankful that I even have this opportunity to share my music with people.”
