Country Music star Alan Jackson has spent 17 years on his 135-acre Nashville farm, and this week has parted ways with the homestead. The property was sold for $28 million to Willis and Reba Johnson of Fairfield, Calif.

According to the NashvillePost.com, the sale makes history as the largest residential sale in Nashville since Tanya Tucker’s Williamson County home sold in 2007 for $11.5 million.

Jackson and his wife, Denise, along with their three daughters, have lived in the 18,600-square foot home since 1993. Jackson tells TheBoot.com this week, "Since our daughters are getting older, we're kind of looking ahead the next five or six years where we're going to end up." The singer went on to say that although the family loves the property, the large space has "served its purpose."
