Country Music legend Alan Jackson has been chosen as a recipient of a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for 2010 by the Hollywood Walk of Fame Committee.

The decision made by the committee was just one part of an exciting week for Jackson. The star celebrated his 20th anniversary in Country Music during a show at Cadillac Ranch and won a CMT Award for Performance of the Year for “Country Boy,” which he performed with George Strait, Brad Paisley and Dirks Bentley during CMT Giants: Alan Jackson.

The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce’s Walk of Fame Committee chose Jackson from hundreds of nominations. The star’s extraordinary career accomplishments and his charitable work made him stand out from the rest.

His fellow Country Music star, Brad Paisley, said Jackson “is everything that I wanted to be as a performer…you're talking about a guy that writes his songs, knows what he is about to say and entertains…just thinking about the career he has had and the class that he has shown, I really admire him.”

The date for the Star ceremony will be set soon, and Jackson fans everywhere will be welcome to come.
