Country music fans at a Cracker Barrel in Mt. Juliet, Tenn., got a pleasant surprise with their food Monday. Alan Jackson was there to launch his Alan Jackson Collection, a merchandise line inspired by his family lifestyle.
Jackson stayed at the Cracker Barrel for two hours, where he signed autographs, shook hands and chatted with the 500 or more guests. Said Jackson, "I grew up in the South, so Cracker Barrel has been a part of my family since I was a young man.
"I was really flattered when [Cracker Barrel] came to me with the idea of working together to create a collection for their country store, and I've been very impressed with the variety and quality of items that we have put together."
According to Peter Keiser, Vice President of Marketing for Cracker Barrel, the restaurant chain has never hosted a store event like this before. "It was important to consider all possibilities to make sure that our guests had a great experience," he said.
"When we heard in advance from some guests that they were planning to camp out overnight to be first in line, we knew we had a winning idea here."
The Alan Jackson Collection includes 41 items from menswear to womenswear and gift items, as well as his newest CD "Songs of Love and Heartache." The collection is only available at Cracker Barrel Old Country Store locations, and the CD includes two previously unreleased songs called "That's What I'd Be Like Without You," and "Nothing Sure Looked Good On You," as well as the hits "Here in the Real World," "Livin On Love," and "Remember When."
