Country Music artist Alan Jackson has a lot to celebrate this week with his single “Good Time” reaching the top of the charts and his album sales crossing the 50 million mark. “Good Time” is Jackson’s 33rd #1 single since he was signed by Country Music label Arista Nashville in 1989. Good Time, Jackson’s newest album just became his fourth album to debut at #1 on both Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart and the Billboard Top 200.
Jackson has had 16 Gold, Platinum and Multi-Platinum albums since his debut. The Country star has won over 100 industry awards, including being a three-time CMA Entertainer of the Year and having the most nominations in CMA history. Joe Galante, Sony BMG Nashville chairman, praised Jackson in a statement from Sony.
“It’s a short drive from Georgia to Tennessee, but it’s a long way to 50 million albums sold!" said Galante. "Alan’s songs and show have propelled him to this incredible level of success. He has never lost touch with his fans, and they’re shown their appreciation year after year with #1 singles and Platinum sales.”
