ACM Announces Pre-Award Fest Performers

4/3/2008 Meaghan Mitchell The Academy of Country Music announced the performers for the Fremont Street Experience, during the week Vegas goes Country.  Country Music singer Randy Owen (former Alabama lead singer) is set to perform on May 16, with Sugarland performing on May 17. Randy Owen will perform on Fremont Street singing songs from his debut solo album One on One. His current single, "Braid My Hair," is still on the Country Music charts since its release earlier this year. Former ACM "New Duo/Group of the Year" Sugarland will appear, following the ACM 5th Annual Charity Motorcycle Ride and Jam. The members of the Country Music duo, Jennifer Nettles and Kristian Bush, are nominated for four ACM Awards this year for work on their multi-platinum album Enjoy the Ride. The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority is the title sponsor for the two-day long party. Both performances (which are only part of the run-up festivities that week) will begin each night at 10:30 p.m. and are free, open to the public. The ACM Awards will be broadcast live from the MGM Grand GArden Arena in Las Vegas Sunday, May 18, 2008 at 8:00 p.m. live ET/delayed PT on CBS Television Network.
