ACM Announces Additional Acts

4/23/2008 Lisa Ann Schleipfer The 43rd Annual Academy of Country Music Awards yesterday announced several additions to the performance line up for the May 18 show.  Country Music stars Trace Adkins, Brooks & Dunn, Miranda Lambert, and Montgomery Gentry will perform live at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.  The group will join previously announced ACM Award performers Rodney Atkins, Dolly Parton, Sugarland, Taylor Swift and Carrie Underwood. Two-time ACM Award nominee Trace Adkins is riding high off his number one single, "You're Gonna Miss This" and his recent appearance on The Celebrity Apprentice.  His next studio album will release this fall. CMA award winner’s Brooks & Dunn are nominated for the 17th time in the Top Vocal Duo category, and hold the highest number of ACM awards of any nominee every, with 24 awards.  The duo is promoting their album, Country Town, touring cities across the U.S. Miranda Lambert, last year’s Top New Female Vocalist, is up for the award again this year.  She also is nominated for Single of the Year for "Famous In A Small Town," and Album of the Year for her number one album Crazy Ex-Girlfriend. Also nominated for Top Vocal Duo is Montgomery Gentry, who released Back When I Knew It All in June.  Their new single "Back When I Knew It All" is already a top 20 hit.
