Academy of Country Music Announces More Changes to ACM Awards

More changes are underway for the Academy of Country Music Awards. Three new additions have been added to the nominees for the cherished Entertainer of the Year award, totaling with eight nominees for the award. The show is scheduled for some time in 2010, though no dates have been determined.
The Academy has also announced some changes in a few other categories. The Top New Female Vocalist and Top New Male Vocalist categories have been combined to make Top New Solo Vocalist. Also, the Top New Vocal Duo or Group category has been made into two separate categories for Top New Vocal Duo and Top New Vocal Group.
Fan voting will open for all categories -- Top New Solo Vocalist, Top New Vocal Duo and Top
New Vocal Group --  and winners will compete for the Top New Artist Award.
The Academy also is announcing the ballot timeline for professional members, as follows:
1st Ballot Opens – Monday, Jan. 4, 2010 at 9 AM Central
1st Ballot Closes – Friday, Jan. 15, 2010 at 5 PMCentral
2nd Ballot Opens – Monday, Feb. 1, at 9:00 AM Central
2nd Ballot Closes – Friday, Feb. 12, 2010 at 5:00 PM Central
3rd Ballot Opens – Monday, March 22, 2010 at 9:00 AM Central
3rd Ballot Closes – Friday, April 2, 2010 at 5:00pm Central
Nominees for the ACM Awards will be announced sometime in February, though no date has
been specifically announced.
