Aaron Tippin won’t be home for Christmas. Instead, the Country singer will be performing for troops stationed in Iraq and Okinawa, Japan, during the holiday season, according to a press release.

Tippin said leaving his family was difficult, but entertaining for men and women of the armed forces is an honor.

“To perform for them during the holidays, a time when they miss being home the most, I can bring a little piece of ‘home’ to them,” he said.

Tippin is set to perform a Thanksgiving show for troops stationed in Iraq, and then the singer will head to Okinawa to perform at Camp Hansen from Dec. 17 - 20.

This is the ninth consecutive holiday trip to the Far East the performer has made.

Tippin said he is honored to be making the trip and that his crude understanding of the Japanese language won’t be a social restraint.

“The only problem I forsee is whether the Japanese can understand hillbilly,” he said.
