Tim McGraw made his first appearance on NBC’s “Saturday Night Live” this weekend.  He opened by singing a few lines from “Real Bad Man”, played a redneck gambler named Duane Bodine in a James Bond skit, and dressed as a turkey amongst a flock of turkeys running from a hunter’s firearms.  The turkey routine was appropriately positioned with the Thanksgiving holiday just a few days away. McGraw is a family man who enjoys traditional thanksgivings.  On the national radio show GAC Nights: Live From Nashville, McGraw said, “This Thanksgiving, we’re gonna be out of town, but usually it’s family.  It’s just like everybody else. It’s about family and either going to family’s house or having family over at our place.  The kids getting to reconnect with aunts and uncles and cousins and friends that sometimes you don’t get to connect with unless it’s that time of year.  And certainly what it means is giving thanks.” Even though our economy is weak and unpredictable and unemployment is on the rise this year, many people will discover that our nation’s economy is not the most important part of life. According to GAC, McGraw also said, “This year [Thanksgiving is] gonna be a lot more special for a lot of families because it certainly is a time to sort of re-evaluate and really step back and take a look at the thigns that you do have and the life you do have and start thinking about the life that some other people don’t have.” And Tim McGraw and Faith Hill definitely have plenty of reasons to be thankful.  Just ranked at No. 4 by Forbes magazine, the Country couple brings in about $35 million.  Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman also made the list, ranking at No. 8 with a combined income of $25 million.  Look for McGraw in his newest movie, Four Christmases, which hits the big screen on the night before Thanksgiving.  The cast of the movie also includes another Country star, Dwight Yoakam and an all-star cast featuring Robert Duvall, Reese Witherspoon, Mary Steenburgen, Jon Voight, Vince Vaughn, and Sissy Spacek.
