Rising Country star Stephen Cochran is determined to do more with his music than try to achieve fame and fortune. His new single, “When A Hero Falls,” is dedicated to his friend and fellow Marine Cpl. Ron Payne, who died serving in Afghanistan. Cochran served alongside Cpl. Payne in Afghanistan after he enlisted after the 9/11 attacks. Cochran made it home safely, but not without scars. He broke his back in combat and was paralyzed for nine months. Cochran then threw himself into writing music, resulting in an album. Currently his single, “Thinkin’ I’m Drinkin’,” is climbing Country Music charts, but it is the release of “When A Hero Falls” that will be most special. The song will be released on Country radio and MP3 for the anniversary of 9/11. The song will be dedicated to those men and women who died that day and in the following days of war. Cochran will be going to Dallas on Sept. 13 as a veteran, not a singer, to be honored along with other veterans wounded in war. He will also be traveling to perform for the troops in Iraq and Afghanistan Dec. 28- Jan. 14 “I love the Marine Corps," Cochran said. "Everything they did for me structured my life and gave me the drive to know that I can do anything I want to do.”
