Songwriters Hall of Fame Announces Inductees

John Hiatt, Matraca Berg and Tom Shapiro will be inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame on Oct. 26 during the ceremonies at the Nasvhille Renaissance Hotel.  Hiatt is to be inducted into the songwriter-artist category while Berg and Shapiro will be inducted into the songwriter category. As an artist himself, Hiatt has been in the business for more than 30 years. He wrote Joe Cocker's "Have a Little Faith in Me," Rosanne Cash's "The Way We Make a Broken Heart" and the Jeff Healey Band's "Angel Eyes." He also wrote B.B. King and Eric Clapton's "Ridin' With the King," Bonnie Raitt's "Thing Called Love" and Elvis Costello's "She Loves the Jerk."  Berg wrote the hit songs "Strawberry Wine" by Deana Carter, Reba McEntire's "The Last One to Know" and Patty Loveless' "I'm That Kind of Girl" and "You Can Feel Bad."  She also wrote Trisha Yearwood's "Wrong Side of Memphis" and Martina McBride's "Wild Angels." Shapiro is known for writing Neal McCoy's "Wink," Sara Evans's "No Place That Far" and Brooks & Dunn's "Ain't Nothing 'Bout You." He also wrote Trace Adkins's "Hot Mama" and Montgomery Gentry's "She Don't Tell Me To."
