Randy Travis Responds to Grammy Nomination

randy-travis-cdRandy Travis, who released his first Country album in eight years this year, is nominated in the Best Country Album of the Year category for the 2009 Grammy Awards. The album, Around The Bend, spawned two singles -- "Faith In You" and "Dig Two Graves." “It has been almost 25 years since I released my first album and this is the first time I have been nominated for Best Country Album," said Travis. "I spent years going through songs with my longtime producer Kyle Lehning for this album and my career has really come full circle with this release. To be able to go and record this album was amazing, and now to be nominated for it is more than I could ask for. I am very blessed and thankful to all who have supported me throughout this journey."Travis is one of the Top 10 selling solo Country artists of all time, spending 23 years on the charts thus far. He has sold more than 21 million albums and has had 22 No. 1 singles. He has also garned six Grammy Awards in the past. This year's nomination for Best Country Album marks his 15th nomination. The Grammy Awards will be held at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on Feb. 8, 2009 and will be aired on CBS at 8 p.m. EST.
