Paisley was one of the few in the running for the award in 2008. He’s hoping he’s put himself in the right place to get the award in 2009, according to GACTV.com.   “I would be lying if I said I didn’t [think about it],” Paisley told The Tennessean. “I grew up watching these shows where they gave out [the Entertainer award], and Kenny and I have had talks about it. We’re old friends, and when we talk about those kinds of things he’s been very vocal and supportive. He says, ‘Come get it.’”   Chesney and Paisley have both set themselves up for the award by headlining tours that included big and rising stars in Country Music. Paisley’s Party 2008 included Jewel, Chuck Wicks and Julianne Hough. Dierks Bentley, Darius Rucker and Crystal Shawanda are on board to join the party in 2009. Paisley’s also talked about starting up his own music festival in West Virginia.
