Marine-on-2007-cma-red-carpet Country Music artists and celebrities always arrive in style on the Red Carpet for the CMA Awards. This year, they'll be trumpeted in with a Nashville high school band. The award-winning marching band from Jon Overton High Scool will lead a procession of limos and Chevy vehicles to the CMA Awards Red Carpet outside the Sommet Center in Nashville. From there, a group of local Marines will greet the stars and usher them onto the Red Carpet. The Marines have been part of the CMA Awards Red Carpet experience since 2006."It is heartwarming that our friends in the Marines Corps are able to participate in show," said CMA Chief Executive Officer Tammy Genovese. "The appreciation is mutual. The Marines are there to support the artists who travel around the world entertaining troops, and I have seen the artists personally go to each Marine to shake their hand in appreciation of their service to our country. Those gestures speak volumes about the relationship between Country artists, Country fans and our service men and women."
