Country Music singer/songwriter Jimmy Wayne has his first number one hit with "Do You Believe Me Now," knocking Keith Urban's "You Look Good In My Shirt" off the Billboard top spot. "I was in Vegas this weekend for the Jerry Lewis MDA Labor Day Telethon when I got the news that my single had gone #1," Wayne said on his website. "What a great feeling—my first #1 record! I have said it before, but it's worth repeating—not many people get their first shot at living their dream, but I have been given two chances now, and I can't thank Country radio, Country Music fans and my record label enough for all of their support. I am so appreciative, and know that this is a day I will never forget."  Wayne's success is sweeter perhaps, due to his tragic past, which included an abusive step father, and sleeping in the streets every time Wayne ran away from home. Wayne took solace in writing, and his self-titled debut album produced the personal track, “Paper Angels,” which earned the William Booth Award from the Salvation Army. More personal songs are expected on Wayne's sophomore effort, Do You Believe Me Now, released last week.  The Country Music artist recently partnered with Major League Baseball for an online promotion, and September brings Wayne to the GAC spotlight as the Artist of the Month.
