It's been quite the newsy week for Jessica Simpson already. Earlier this week, she learned her latest Country single, "Come On Over," would be used in television campaigns advertising the TV special, CMA Music Festival: Country's Night To Rock. Now, the singer will be the new spokesperson for Stampede Light Plus Beer, reported The Dallas Morning News. Made in Dallas, the brew is marketed for the vitamins included in the beer, called "functional additives." According to Lawrence Schwartz, Stampede's president and chief executive, Simpson is "the face of the brand now." According to a statement released on the Stampede Web site, the company was looking for someone who upheld the values of "healthy living, individuality and personal responsibility." Simpson was the obvious choice. "Jessica is America’s sweetheart and an internationally known entertainer who takes care of herself. You can see it in her smile, her skin, her confidence and her obvious physical fitness,” said Schwartz Simpson is also part-owner of the company now, holding a 15 percent stake in the brew. "As an entrepreneur, I am always looking for ways to diversify my portfolio with good ideas and good people," Simpson said in a statement. "Yes, I work out and take care of myself, but I also like a cold beer once in a while."
