I Am One Thankful Dog

Outside of National Dog Week, Thanksgiving really is one of my favorite times of year.  I am a very thankful dog after all.  That’s how I keep my chipper attitude all the time, even though its sometimes hidden below my laid-back exterior (just look at my tail though).  Kicking Back For Thanksgiving  This year I’m very thankful just to have some food in my bowl, even if it is beef and rice, and not turkey.  But there’s many other things I’m thankful for too:

  • I’m thankful to have a nice home with a lot of people who love me.
  • I’m thankful for my best friend Buddy.  Being the alpha dog he can be a bit territorial at times, but he’s pretty fun to romp around the back yard with.
  • I’m thankful to live in the United States and enjoy freedom.  I think of all my dog relatives in other countries who are not so fortunate.
  • I’m thankful for all the people who work together to make CountryHound possible.  Many volunteer their efforts.  My kind of dog.
  • I’m thankful for my fur that keeps me warm as we head towards and into winter.  I know there’s many people and animals who get very cold out on the streets at night.
  • I’m thankful for flea treatments.
  • I’m thankful for chew bones.
  • I’m thankful for Purina.
  • I’m thankful for rabbits and squirrels.  Maybe one day I’ll catch one.
  • I’m thankful for our sofa, at least when I can sneak on it for a quick nap.
  • I’m thankful for our fence cause it keeps me from going astray.
  • I’m thankful for the vets who have taken care of me over the years.
  • I’m thankful for the beauty of nature that surrounds me.  I’m thankful for the four seasons we have here in Tennessee.
  • I’m thankful Michael Vick never owned me.
  • I’m thankful for Country Music.  I love it.

You get the picture.  We all have many reasons to be thankful if we just stop and take the time to think about how we are blessed.    My only request this Thanksgiving is that you maybe take a moment to check our our Humane Heroes program and maybe slide a few hard-earned bucks to the Humane shelter.    Happy Thanksgiving to all!
