Williams prides himself in making music that reaches out to not only traditional country fans, but to hard-rock fans as well. For those who don’t know, Williams is the son of Hank Williams, Jr. and the grandson of Country legend Hank Williams. Williams has also filmed a video for the first single off the album “Long Hauls & Close Calls.” According to a statement from the record company, he says “it’s got a little bit of the scream for the kids in black and a little bit of the banjo and dobro for the country folks.” The album has an incredible mix of genres of music that appeal to multiple subcultures of people. “3 Shades of Black” climaxes with a bloodcurdling scream while “Stoned & Alone” is Williams version of a country ballad. He describes “P.F.F.” as a “high-energy, get-drunk singalong.” Williams dedicated the song to G.G. Allin, a shock rocker that most would not view as the normal inspiration for a country album. “The hobo kids, the train-hopping kids, they all love Hank Williams and G.G. Allin,” he says. “And they’ve bled into our audience. I’m still tryin’ to keep one half happy and the other half satisfied by flip-floppin’ the shows between stone country, punk and metal sets. We’re just doin’ what we’re doin’ and people see the realness in that.”
