Glen Campbell To Headline Americana Music Fest

Legendary Country Music singer Glen Campbell will headline two events, a film screening and Q & A session, at the Americana Music Festival and Conference Sept. 17-20 in Nashville. The Americana Music Association, the Country Music Hall of Fame® and Museum, and Nashville Public Television have teamed up to present the programs, which will also include a tribute to Campbell. “We always strive to educate our audiences about the breadth and depth of country music, its many facets and influences,” said Museum Director Kyle Young.  “Americana music, which embraces music in all of its root forms, is very representative of that vast scope, and we’re pleased to offer these programs to AMA registrants and our own visitors.” Campbell will celebrate the recent release of Meet Glen Campbell by appearing at the Country Music Hall of Fame Museum on Saturday, Sept. 20, for a rare film screening and Q&A session. The accompanying documentary, Meet Glen Campbell: A Documentary, will be shown in the Museum's Ford Theater. The event, which is included with Museum admission and is free to Museum members, will close with Campbell signing autographs. The tribute concert will take place the night of Sept. 20 at the Cannery Ballroom. Star-Spangled Rodeo: A Salute to Glen Campbell will begin at 8:30 p.m. and will feature Bryson Jones and the Sin City All Stars, including Jesse Dayton, Greta Gaines, Jim Lauderdale, Raul Malo, Chuck Mead, Jason Ringenber and a special appearance by Campbell himself.
