C3 Presents has given up on the 2008 Big State Festival in Texas. The festival, which was intended to be a Country Music event set to take place in the Dallas suburb of Frisco, was canceled. Charlie Walker of C3 said the festival was canceled due to "a lack of top tier talent".  The Big State Festival cancellation is not the first festival that C3 has abandoned. Earlier this year, C3 bailed on plans for a festival in New Jersey because of some competition with another festival. Last year's inaugural Big State Festival included Tim McGraw, Lyle Lovett and Willie Nelson as headliners.
