Singer-songwriter Jewel is enjoying the second phase of her music career with her first country music hit, "Stronger Woman," a song that discusses the idea that men and women need to approach adulthood differently.  The 33-year-old artist wrote the song when she was 18 and co-produced the country hit with Big & Rich's John Rich.

"I wrote this song not to be a guy-bashing song at all," Jewel said on the national radio show GAC Nights: Live From Nashville. "This, to me, is just about women saying, 'There's more to me than I give my own self credit for, and if I want a certain kind of life, and I want a certain kind of happiness, it's up to me to get it.' For women, it's hard sometimes, because I think men are raised to feel like they know they're gonna be on their own and they know they're gonna make a living in the world and it's their way and they've gotta find it."

"Stronger Woman" appears on Jewel's new album, Perfectly Clear, which will be released June 3. The singer-songwriter now gone country will then join Brad Paisley on his Paisley Party 2008 tour in mid June.

The long-time pop star is best known for her musical successes of the last decade, which include "Who Will Save Your Soul," and "You Were Meant For Me."
