ACM Honors Special Award Recipients

The Academy of Country Music announced that Country superstars Martina McBride and LeAnn Rimes will appear at ACM Honors. The ceremony will be held to honor those who have won ACMs, but whose awards weren’t televised, along with other special honorees. McBride will host the Sept. 17 event at the Musicians Hall of Fame and Museum. LeAnn Rimes and Joe Nichols are set to perform at this inaugural ceremony. The awards recognized will be from the 43rd Academy of Country Music Awards that was held earlier in the year. Other performers included are Jon Randall, Rivers Rutherford and Connie Smith. Some special awards to be presented include: The Poet’s Award, won by Bill Anderson and Fred Rose; the Jim Reeves International Award, won by Dick Clark; and the Cliffie Stone Pioneer Award, presented to Brenda Lee, the Oak Ridge Boys, Conway Twitty and Porter Wagoner. Other musician's awards will also be recognized, including Guitarist of the Year, won by Dan Huff. Famed producer Mark Wright, who has worked with artists like Clint Black, the Oak Ridge Boys and Gary Allan, won the award for Producer of the Year.
