NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Grand Ole Opry and the Opry House’s refurbished backstage area are set to be featured during a segment on Today Show Weekend on Sun., May 15. NBC Nightly News and Today Show Weekend anchor Lester Holt visited the Opry last month for the story that showcases the Opry House following its $20 million refurbishment after May 2010 flooding placed much of the Opry House under four feet of water.

Holt was also a guest announcer during his Opry visit and was a part of the Opry’s “I’m With The Band” series, playing bass for Capitol Records Nashville’s Luke Bryan. Holt’s piece also discusses the important role the Opry plays in country music and the lives of artists such as Jimmy Dickens, Larry Gatlin, Ricky Skaggs, and Bryan.

A clip of Holt’s Opry appearance can be seen now at opry.com.

Nashvillians and Music City visitors can get an up close look at the Opry House seven days a week during Opry House Backstage Pass Tours. To plan a tour, call (800) SEE-OPRY or visit opry.com.
