9/11/2007 Stephen L. Betts   Emerson Drive took home three Canadian Country Music Association awards Monday night (9/10), for Song and Video of the Year for their hit, “Moments,” as well as for Group of the Year. “The last two and a half years, there have been so many people who have put in a ton of effort to put out the Countrified CD,” said lead singer Brad Mates while accepting the group of the year trophy, which the band also won in 2002 and 2003. “First and foremost, obviously, the fans that have really jumped on board this year, thank you very much.” “Moments,” which the group played to open the show, hit No. 1 on the Billboard country charts in the U.S. this year, marking the first time a Canadian band has earned a No. 1 single in the U.S. The song peaked at No. 4 in Canada. The group had a “moment” when it came to their wardrobe, which didn’t arrive in Regina, Saskatchewan, until a day after the band did.  Thankfully, their show attire arrived the morning of the CCMA show, just in time for their appearance.   The 2007 CCMA Awards will air in the U.S.  Sept. 23 at 8 p.m. (ET) on GAC.
