Jason Aldean Has No. 1 Birthday

Jason-a
Jason Aldean now has another reason to celebrate during his birthday, with his own ‘kinda party.’  “Don’t You Wanna Stay,” his emotional and soulful duet with Kelly Clarkson reached No. 1 on the Billboard Country Singles chart Feb. 28.

“It’s a pretty killer birthday present, that’s for sure! My family and friends are going to have to work very, very hard to beat what country radio and the fans have already given me today,” Aldean joked.  “On a serious note, I am really proud of this song.  Anybody who says they wouldn’t be nervous to try and go note for note with a vocalist like Kelly Clarkson is straight up lying to you!  So, I do feel a huge sense of accomplishment to have pulled it off in the studio and on live tv with her, and then for everyone else to have responded to it the way they did...it’s just incredible, and you never take those things for granted.”

This marks the ACM Entertainer of the Year nominee’s sixth No. 1 throughout his career. To top it off, Aldean’s platinum album, “My Kinda Party,” continues to hold the No. 1 position on the iTunes’ Top 10 Country Songs.

As for the “My Kinda Party Tour,” it is sold out again in Charlottesville, Va., Lexington, Ky. and Toledo, Ohio this weekend. For more information and tour dates, visit jasonaldean.com.
