Eric Church & Band Perry Snag Early ACM Wins

It was announced Feb. 25 that Eric Church was named Top New Solo Vocalist and The Band Perry was named Top New Vocal Duo or Group by the Academy of Country Music and Great American Country (GAC). This means that now Church and The Band Perry will both be considered nominees for the Top New Artist award, given out at the 46th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards.
 
This show will be broadcast LIVE from the MGM Grand Garden Area April 3 from Las Vegas at 8 p.m. ET/delayed PT on CBS.
 
Church and The Band Perry will be presented their awards by the reigning Top New Artist from 2010, Luke Bryan, on March 2. The awards will be presented at the country radio’s ACM-sponsored CRS Music City Jam in Nashville, which is open to Country Radio Seminar registrants at the Nashville Convention Center.
 
Fans can watch the winners receive their ACM awards and trophies, as well as their acceptance speeches, on GAC’s “ACM Top New Artists” special, premiering March 14 ad 9 p.m. ET.
 
Voting for the Top New Artist is will begin March 11 at noon PT at VoteACM.com. The voting will last until 5 p.m. PT April 3.
