Chris Young Tops Charts, Breaks Records

Chris-Young-2011
Chris Young is hearing voices, breaking records and topping the charts.

The former "Nashville Star" champ earned his third consecutive No. 1 single with "Voices" from his sophomore album "The Man I Want To Be."

The single, which was originally released as the album's debut single in 2008, got a second chance after first landing at No. 37 on the Billboard Country Songs chart.

"Thanks to everyone who has congratulated me and is as excited about this number one as I am! Amazing day," said Young on his Twitter.

The song's new-found success also broke a 25-year record previously held by Randy Travis. "Voices" is the second song, after Travis's "On The Other Hand" in 1986, to find moderate success on the Billboard country chart and then climb to No. 1 after a second release.

Young is nominated for a Grammy for Best Male Country Vocal Performance  for “Gettin' You Home” and is currently on the road with Rascal Flatts' "Nothing Like This" tour.

"Tomorrow," Young's new single from an album to be released Summer 2011, was released Monday.
