Reba Invites Blake Shelton To Co-Host ACMs

blake-shelton-2011

The Academy of Country Music Awards will look a little different this year when Blake Shelton joins Reba McEntire as co-host of the ceremony.

This year will mark McEntire’s 13th time hosting, while Shelton will be the 50th host of the ACMs since its beginning in 1965.

“Last year Reba and Blake read our nominations and they were just magic together, incredibly funny,” said Bob Romeo, CEO of the Academy. “When Reba suggested inviting Blake to join her, the Academy could not have been more pleased – we know the viewers will be blown away by their comic chemistry.”

Shelton calls the announcement “an incredibly special moment.”

“I am humbled that Reba invited me to co-host the ACM Awards with her,” he said. “She is not only a mentor to me but a true friend. She continually supports other artists, which is a testament really to her beauty and talent.”

The 46th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards will air LIVE from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Sunday, April 3, at 8:00 p.m. ET/delayed PT on CBS.
