Tim McGraw made an appearance Thursday on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, and he offered his thoughts on co-star Gwyneth Paltrow’s recent performance on the CMA Awards.
McGraw joked with DeGeneres and admitted his jealousy of Paltrow’s rave reviews at the ceremony last month.
“I'm sort of pissed at her,” McGraw said. “I've been, what, 20 years, I've been in the music business, and I don't think I've ever gotten a standing ovation at the CMAs. After all the hard work I've done. After all the time and effort. And then she walks out and sings one song and everybody stands up.”
McGraw and Paltrow star as husband and wife in the upcoming film, Country Strong. Paltrow plays fallen Country singer Kelly Canter. The film details Canter’s resurrection of her career after old demons and romantic entanglements threaten to derail everything.
Country Strong hits theaters in Los Angeles and Nashville on Dec. 22. The movie will open in theaters nationwide on Jan. 7, 2011.
