The Band Perry has a great deal to celebrate this year. After bursting on to the Country Music scene, seemingly out of thin Country air, to being nominated for their first CMA Award as Vocal Group of the Year. But the competition for Vocal Group of the Year is tough, including Little Big Town, Rascal Flatts, Lady Antebellum and Zac Brown Band, and the Perry siblings will be the first to admit, which .
"We plan on being seat fillers the night of the awards," Kimberly Perry said in an interview with The Boot. "Last year, we were eating a pizza at the Comfort Inn & Suites watching it on TV."
"Room 211," Neil Perry added.
"To actually get to go to the awards, that's the win for the Band Perry," Kimberly said. "And we may bring a pizza with us this year...We'll be eating on the inside instead of the outside," Kimberly said.
Another “win” for the band would be meeting their long-time musical hero. When asked who they are most excited to see at the CMA’s, they replied in unison, “Loretta Lynn.”
"They're doing a tribute to her this year," Kimberly said. "I'm going to go find that woman and [tell her], 'You are our idol!'"
"We try not to gherm [to be star-struck] too much, but we would gherm Loretta Lynn," Neil said.
And as an answer to the highly anticipated “What will you be wearing?” question, "That's our favorite part," Reid said, jokingly. "We've got what we're wearing picked out, but it's going to be right up until the last minute until it's ready."
"Our mother is our stylist," Kimberly said. "We all sort of participate in that highly stressful process of finding something to wear to an awards show. I thought it was going to be easier than it was, but it's not. I'll be in a black Vera Wang dress this year. We looked everywhere and finally narrowed it down. We'll all be in black on the carpet. Then we'll change for the presents."
The “presents” Kimberly is referring to are still unknown – and will be unveiled Wednesday night on the CMA Awards.
