Rascal Flatts will be honored for their generous donations to Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital by having a new pediatric surgery center named after them.

The group has donated has donated more than $3 million to the Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt University in Nashville and has made multiple visits to see the children. On Friday, the group performed for the patients and passed out Halloween candy after a press conference that morning.

During the conference, the hospital unveiled the sign that would be placed at the entrance of the surgery center.

"There are no words to adequately describe what it feels like to see that sign unveiled today," band member Jay DeMarcus told CMT Radio. He added, "If you leave anything behind, that sure is a wonderful thing ... a wonderful legacy to leave behind."

The Rascal Flatts Surgery Center will be built on the third floor of the hospital and will include new specialized radiology suites and a bi-planar imaging system. Currently, the hospital performs more than 12,700 pediatric surgeries a year.
