Blake Shelton was in Los Angeles on Oct. 20 as the singer’s first ever headlining tour stopped at Club Nokia to give a performance to a sold out crowd.
Shelton told the crowd he had been nervous about performing in front of the west coast audience. But the Los Angeles fans made Shelton feel at home.
“I’m glad there are some hillbillys out there like me,” Shelton told the crowd.
Shelton told The Boot he was impressed with the fans who made it to the show.
“I wouldn’t want to drive a block here,” he commented. “For someone to drive across town to come to a concert, it shows you they do have a passion for it.”
Shelton kicked off the show with, “Let’s raise some hell, y’all” and then performed “All About Tonight,” the tour’s title song. Later in the evening he was met on stage by fiancé,
Miranda Lambert, and the two performed their duet, “Draggin’ the River.”
“It’s a hell of a thing when your fiancé is Female Vocalist of the Year,” Shelton said.
After giving a four-song encore and performing “Hillbilly Bone,” Shelton brought the show to a close with a performance of “Ol’ Red.”
Shelton’s latest recording, Loaded: The Best of Blake Shelton, will be in stores on Nov. 9.
The next stop for Shelton will be in Salem, Va., at the Salem Civic Center on Oct. 29.
