The Judds Turn Opry Pink

Judds-Final-2010
In correlation with October being Breast Cancer Awareness month and the re-opening of the Grand Ole Opry House, the Opry is joining hands with Women Rock For The Cure and Susan G. Komen for the Cure on Friday, Oct. 15 with its second annual “Opry Goes Pink” show. During the show, the five-time award-winning duo The Judds will help turn the Opry’s signature backdrop pink.

Guest announcers for part of the show will include FOX News anchor Greta Can Susteren and actress Kimberly Williams-Paisley. Williams-Paisley will also be introducing the Greater Nashville Affiliate Susan G. Komen for the Cure 2010 Honorary Survivor of the Year. As for entertainment, John Anderson, Joey + Rory, Marty Stuart and other special guests, along with The Judds, will be performing. Other special activities include recognizing breast cancer survivors and those who are continuing to fight against the disease.

Those who are interested in attending the night of remembrance, hope and celebration should remember to mention the code OPRYPINK. The code works when ordering tickets via telephone (800-SEE-OPRY) or enter the code when purchasing tickets online (opry.com) and $5 of the sale will be donated to Women Rock For The Cute and the Greater Nashville affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cute. Pink Packages, which include Opry tickets, a meet and greet with The Judds and a Judds-autographed “Opry Goes Pink” print, are available benefiting the two charities.

A new aspect to “Opry Goes Pink” this year will overflow to opry.com, which will go pink for a day on Oct. 15. The website will be hosting an online pink auction beginning Tuesday, Oct. 12, with all proceeds benefiting Women Rock For The Cute and Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Items available during the pink auction are in an “Opry Goes Pink” autographed guitar, a 25th anniversary hatch print from The Judds, an autographed Sugarland wall hanging, autographed items from Luke Bryan and Craig Morgan, Opry vacation packages and much more.
