Lady Antebellum Goes Triple Platinum, Announces New Music

On the heels of the surprise that their sophomore album, Need You Now, was certified Triple Platinum, Lady Antebellum is announcing the release of even more music.

The group will release a six-song EP, entitled A Merry Little Christmas, on Oct. 12. The holiday album will feature both classic and new songs from the now muli-platinum trio.

It was a little bit peculiar being in the studio in the middle of July in Nashville, 100 degrees outside, sweating and doing a Christmas record,” Lady A’s Dave Haywood told Billboard. “But we had a great time doing it. We had the studio all decorated; we brought everything we had from our houses and decorated and tried to get into the spirit. It was a fun experience.”

The reigning CMA and ACM Vocal Group of the Year is quick to mention that not even the recent platinum success of Need You Now will change how the trio makes future music, like the music on their new holiday album. No matter what, they say, they’ll always be “creating music that means something.”

“We do our best to really not let any kind of success add any pressure to what we do," Haywood said. “So we're just in tour mode and writing mode. We write when we're out here [on the road] and then play shows at night.”

The band’s current single, “Our Kind Of Love,” marks their fourth consecutive No. 1. Currently, they’re in the middle of their first headlining Need You Now 2010 tour. For a complete lists of tour dates, visit http://ladyantebellum.com/tourdates.
