Considering the fact that The Buried Life boys have previously stolen a lock of Robert Pattinson’s hair and spoken in a stadium telling jokes on late-night TV, crashing the CMT Awards did not seem so far-fetched. However, they hit a few more bumps in the road than expected.
The original plan was to dress Penn up as an up-and-coming Country singer in order to sneak past security. When that plan fell through, they quickly had to come up with an alternative plan.
During the episode, which originally aired Oct. 4, co-star Jonnie Penn attempts to help a man he met, Bob Hagelund, find a women he promised to return to. The catch? Hagelund and his love-interest were separated in Australia almost 50 years ago.
