Keith Urban is not only known for tearing his way up the music charts, but as well as his ability to rock out on his guitar. Now, through a talent search contest sponsored by Guitar Center, one lucky winner will have the chance to record an EP with a top producer, featuring Urban on one of the tracks.
"I'm always ready to do whatever it takes to give aspiring musicians the chance to do what they love," Urban said. "I think we've all heard someone whose musical talents blow us away and sometimes all that stands between their garage and an arena is a chance."
The winner of the “Your Next Record” competition, which is meant to draw in unsigned artists, includes a three-song EP with a top-producer and a single featuring Urban, in addition to a $10,000 Guitar Center shopping spree, $10,000 worth of new Gibson Guitar products, endorsements from Gisbon and D’addario, the single featured on iTunes and the opening slot at one of Urban’s shows.
Artists can enter the competition until Nov. 30 at
www.guitarcenter.com and fans can vote for their favorites through Dec. 15. Weekly, a random fan will be chosen to win a $50 Guitar Center gift card. The winning artist will be chosen in January 2011 by Urban and a panel of industry experts.
