Lady Antebellum Thankful for CMA Awards Nominations

Lady-Antebellum
At the 2010 CMA Awards, Lady Antebellum will defend their title of Vocal Group of the Year and compete for awards in four other categories, including Entertainer of the Year.

The band’s smash crossover hit album and single, “Need You Now,” earned three nominations for Album of the Year, Single of the Year and Music Video of the Year.

“Five nominations is absolutely unbelievable...wow!" lead singer and guitarist Charles Kelley said Wednesday in a press release.

Kelley and his bandmates, Hillary Scott and Dave Haywood, were also nominated individually as songwriters for “Need You Now” in the Song of the Year category. They are the second-most nominated artists behind Miranda Lambert and her record-setting nine nominations.

The Grammy-winning group released an exclusive EP for iTunes Sessions on Aug. 17, including an acoustic version of “Need You Now” and their upbeat new single, “Our Kind of Love.” The seven-song collection shot to the top of the iTunes charts immediately, earning the highest weekly sales of any iTunes Sessions, Live From… or Originals ever released, according to Country Music Tattle Tale

“This year just keeps getting better and better,” Haywood added.
