Trace Adkins Tops the Charts Again

For the fourth time in his multi-platinum career, Trace Adkins has debuted an album at the No. 1 spot on Billboard’s Country Album Chart. The singer’s 11th release and first with new label Show Dog-Universal Music, Cowboy’s Back in Town, has also landed at No. 5 on Billboard’s Top 200.

“For the sake of Show Dog-Universal, I really want for this [album] to be a huge success,” Adkins said in an interview with The Boot before the album’s release. “I appreciate the faith that they’ve had in me, and I hope that it’s proven to be a good decision on both our parts. That’s really what I’m hoping for this year.”

Adkins signed with Show Dog-Universal eight months ago and since then, he and label mate Toby Keith have been jamming to sold-out crowds all summer on the Keith's American Ride Tour, which continues through Sept. 25.

Adkins will be touring the late night talk show circuit in the coming weeks, with appearances set for the Tonight Show with Jay Leno on Sept. 14, Jimmy Kimmel Live on Sept. 15, Late Night with Jimmy Fallon on Oct. 5, Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson on Oct. 12 and Chelsea Lately on Oct. 19.

In the midst of the late-night television appearances, Adkins will also be in Cincinnati on Aug. 27 to perform at the Riverbend Music Center  and in Noblesville, Ind., on Aug. 28 to play at the Verizon Wireless Music Center.
