James Otto reveals what really matters to him with new single, “Soldiers and Jesus,” which showcases his patriotism.
Born as a military child, Otto is no stranger to the life of an Army man. Traveling from state to state, Otto has many stories and vivid pictures of life as an Army brat.
“I'm part of a military family. My dad was an Army Ranger drill sergeant for 23 years—and my grandfather is a Korean War vet; I served in the Navy myself,” Otto shares. “Also, being a guy who considers himself a Christian, I think this song has a interesting twist: 'there are only two people that have ever given their lives for me, and it has been soldiers and Jesus.'” Otto continued. “Regardless of the politics that can often divide our nation, I think it's always important to support our troops who defend our right to worship as we each see fit.”
The salute to American troops is already climbing the Country charts and can be found on Ottos’ third studio album, Shake what God Gave Ya, in stores Sept. 14.
