Billy Currington Keeps 4th Album About the Songwriters

Billy-Currington
Billy Currington is set to release his fourth studio album, Enjoy Yourself, on Sept. 21.

“It’s a great mix. It reflects who I am,” Currington said. “I’m definitely not just one thing,” Currington said.  “I’m the beach guy, I’m the country guy, I love my dirt roads and fishing, but I love New York City and L.A. and Miami, too.”

Some of Nashville’s top songwriters will be featured on the upcoming album, including Dave Barnes, Shawn Camp, Scotty Emerick, Jones and Mark Nesler. The album will also include the Top 5 smash hit written by Troy Jones, “Pretty Good At Drinkin’ Beer.”

“This record was about recording songwriter’s songs,” Currington said. “I could have gone back and recorded a bunch of mine that I’ve written, but there were a lot of writers I wanted to record, like Shawn and Troy. I had to put their songs on this album.”

Currington has recorded five No. 1 singles in his career and will join Carrie Underwood this fall for a 46-city tour that will kick off Sept. 25 in Portland, Ore. Some stops along the way include San Diego, Los Angeles, Houston, Dallas, Nashville, Kansas City, Tampa, Charlotte, Toronto and Vancouver.

Currington will be in Stillwater, Okla., on Aug. 25 at the Tumbleweed Dance Hall and Concert Arena. For more tour dates and to listen to “Pretty Good At Drinkin’ Beer,” visit www.billycurrington.com.
