John Mellencamp, Wanda Jackson to be Honored By Americana Music Association

The Americana Music Association has announced the recipients of the 2010 Lifetime Achievement Awards. Recipients and their respective honors include: Wanda Jackson (performance), John Mellencamp (songwriting), Luke Lewis (executive), Greg Leisz (instrumentalist) and Brian Ahern (producer/engineer).
 
The awards will be presented at the AMA’s Honors and Awards show at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville on Thursday, Sept. 9, as a part of the 11th annual Americana Music Festival and Conference (Sept. 8-11). All honorees will attend the ceremony to receive their awards.
 
The ceremony will also feature appearances by Rodney Crowell, Roseanne Cash, Patty Griffin, Sam Bush, The Avett Brothers, Corb Lund, Will Kimbrough, and Sarah Jarosz. Jim Lauderdale will emcee, and Buddy Miller will lead the house band.
 
The Honors and Awards Show is open to the public. Tickets are $55 and can be purchased through the Ryman Box Office, Ticketmaster or AMA.
