Jerrod Niemann's infectious debut single, "Lover, Lover," took the Country world by storm, hitting the No. 1 slot on both the Billboard and Country Aircheck charts. Soon after, his premier album, Judge Jerrod & the Hung Jury, debuted at the top of the charts, leaving Niemann with a feat that hasn't happened in five years.

The last artist to earn a No. 1 single from a major label debut album that also went No.1 on the Billboard charts was Carrie Underwood in 2005.

The success experienced by Niemann is not only a Country accomplishment, but also an interesting coincidence.

“It’s pretty weird to have a song go No. 1 ten years after the day you set foot in Nashville to visit,” said Niemann. “But at the end of the day, I’m just happy to have anything out there on the radio, and the most exciting thing for me is actually being able to step on stage and people be there to cheer you on, and then – of course, when we sing ‘Lover, Lover’ – to sing along. There’s no other word to describe it than ‘amazing.’”

Next month Niemann will join Gary Allan and Randy Houser, on Allan’s Get Off on the Pain Tour.
