Set to air Dec. 6, live from Las Vegas, FOX is planning to air a new Country Music awards show, titled the “American Country Awards.” The award show will put the power to vote in the hands of fans.
The executive producer for the show, Bob Bain, is also the executive who is behind the Teen Choice Awards. The Teen Choice Awards uses a similar method of putting voting power in the hands of the audience.
Country Music awards shows have historically been able to pull viewers. FOX likely seeks to pull a healthy viewing audience by following the popular CMA Awards, set to air Nov. 10 on ABC.
